Mariana Carmo Duarte

Postdoctoral Researcher

ICS - University of Lisbon

Welcome to my website! I am a Postdoctoral researcher at ICS - University of Lisbon. I am currently working on the project LoREP - Losers of Representation. I received my PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute in September 2023.

My research interests lie in the field of comparative politics, namely in public opinion and party competition. I use advanced quantitative methods and experimental designs to explore the consequences of party politicisation of the European Union and immigration on the dynamics of public opinion formation. Besides that, my research interests also include political institutions, electoral systems, and political representation.

If you are interested in knowing more about my research, please feel free to contact me at mariana.carmoduarte@ics.ulisboa.pt.
